Faraj Aalaei is a technologist, semiconductor expert, and visionary entrepreneur. As the Founder & CEO of Cognichip, he brings 40 years of deep industry expertise, driving breakthrough innovations in semiconductor and communications technology.

Faraj previously led two semiconductor companies as founder and CEO—Centillium and Aquantia—both of which he took public to IPO. His latest IPO, Aquantia, was acquired by Marvell Semiconductor, where he led the Networking and Automotive division, a billion-dollar plus revenue powerhouse. At Centillium, he made history by taking the company from seed funding to NASDAQ IPO in just 3 years—the fastest-ever for a semiconductor startup.

Faraj has spent his career shaping the future of semiconductor technology and is a holder of multiple patents. With Cognichip, he continues to push the boundaries of what’s possible in an industry he knows better than anyone.

Faraj holds an honorary Doctorate of Engineering from Wentworth Institute of Technology, where he also earned his Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering. He also holds an MSEE from the University of Massachusetts and an MBA from the University of New Hampshire.
