
Seth’s Bio
Seth Stephens-Davidowitz is a best selling author, has worked as a contributing op-ed writer for the New York Times, was a lecturer at The Wharton School and was previously a data scientist at Google. He earned his BA in philosophy from Stanford, graduating Phi Beta Kappa, and his PhD in economics from Harvard in 2013.
His 2017 debut book, Everybody Lies, delved into the secrets revealed by internet data and quickly became a New York Times Best Seller. It was also a Wall Street Journal Best Seller, a PBS NewsHour Book of the Year, an Economist Book of the Year, and an Amazon Best Business Book of the Year. In 2022, Seth published Don’t Trust Your Gut, which examines how people can use data to achieve life goals. This work was excerpted in the New York Times, The Atlantic, and Wired. His most recent book, Who Makes the NBA, published in 2023, explores how AI can transform the creative process. It received praise from NBA players, sports executives, and technologists.
Seth has consulted for leading companies, including Citadel, East Rock Capital, TCI, GSK, and TetraPak. He partnered with Oracle on the groundbreaking Decision Dilemma study and has spoken at the Sohn Conference, one of the most prestigious events in the finance industry.
